The holidays and end of the year are now almost here, so it seems a good moment to reflect on 2017 and also assess the prospects for the New Year.

2017 saw a return to the same sort of boom market conditions we last saw over a decade ago. This time, however, we have far more sustainable conditions and the great situation we find ourselves in is the gradual result of the momentum that has been building here for some years now.
There's been really healthy sales and price growth that is still causing a short supply of available homes locally. We have, however, seen improvements in the numbers of sellers coming onto the market but this has largely been absorbed by high demand. Therefore a tremendous opportunity still awaits those sellers who will list at a time of low competition and, in a growing number of instances, multiple offers that can even lead to returns above asking price.
With a healthy outlook for the economy and jobs, still low mortgage rates and no reason to think that the tremendous levels of buyer sentiment will not continue here, 2018 is shaping up to be another year of outstanding performance in the local real estate market.
